Though often a French restaurant, it doesn't have to be, and not every bistro serves French food." The owner and Chef, Lanser Fourie, originates from Heidelberg (Gauteng), and he's done an amazing job creating a small, casual restaurant, with impeccable service, a laid back environment, and incredible food. They have a wine selection that will make many fine-dining restaurants blush, and when I'm looking for a traditional, well run restaurant experience, it's my go-to local. It's one of those rare places where they remember your name, what you like to drink and eat, and are frequented by regulars and first-timers who 'just heard'. They have monthly wine-pairing evenings, showcasing some of South Africa's great farms, where new friendships are made, and old friendships cemented. I can't imagine a week without at least one visit, to tantalise my taste buds, recharge my mojo, and relax with friends, great food and wine.
