To our Valued Customer and Friends
What an adventure this has been for all of us as we’ve adjusted and adapted to this unwelcome virus that has visited the world of human beings. ‘Adventure’ is the most positive way of describing what is more accurately an ordeal, nightmare, and affliction. Lives have been lost and economies decimated as we found ourselves comprehensively unprepared for COVID-19.
A PERSONAL NOTE
This is a personal note to our valued customers and friends who have shown incredible support during the past few months. Phone calls, Whatsapps, Emails, Facebook and Instagram comments. Thank you for your concern and offers of support.
I’ve been determined to keep a positive outlook and hold on to any optimism offered, that we will as a global community, find a way through the chaos and emerge in a position to recover, even if in a different form. There will be so much that will either be changed forever, or will take time to return to ‘how things used to be’.
During the levels of lock-down that we were not permitted to be open, all of Lanser’s on Main staff have been paid in full. I’m a firm believer that when you start a journey with a committed and incredible group of people, you walk the good times and the bad times together. You do everything you can to get everyone to the other side. As we opened for take-aways on 4 June, it was with great personal pride that the entire team opened back up together.
THE TAKE-AWAY PERIOD
The ‘take-away period’ was extremely tough on us. Bistro’s are traditionally establishments that are an attractive escape from the busyness of life. A place where time stands still for a brief moment, where friends and family gather to enjoy a home-cooked meal in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Lanser’s on Main and Take-Away are not easy bedfellows when building sentences (that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be at the top of your list when considering tasty and hearty food for home or the office).
This past week we were permitted to open for sit-down meals. While we’re missing the wine element of our offering, we’re thrilled to welcome guests looking for our Bistro experience. There’s a renewed energy in the team, and hope is whispering that while there are difficult times ahead, we can find a way to ensure health and safety while still offering the personalised care, attention, and the scrumptious dishes we have become known for.
